PRIVACY

Information Privacy: The information from members through applications on this website or provided on paper by the member is collected in order to register members, to communicate with members, and to ensure that applicants are assigned to the correct membership category. The information will be shared with the Ontario Tennis Association as required by the permit process. At the Club level, it will be shared with the Executive, League Captains, Club Pro and assistants, and other volunteers needed to run various houseleague and social activities. The information you provide will be retained for up to two years and will then be shredded, erased and/or made anonymous. All information will be held securely in computer form or in the Club office.

WAIVER & RELEASE

By becoming a member of this Club, the member hereby releases Markham Tennis Club (hereinafter “MTC”) and its Executives, jointly and severally, from any and all claims for damages arising from any accidents or injuries while participating in any event or program at the Club. As a member, you agree to abide by the rules and regulations and to follow the code of conduct as laid down in the bylaws of the Club.

 

By becoming a member of this Club, you hereby grant permission to MTC, and its officers, trustees, employees, to photograph your image, likeness, or depiction and/or that of your minor children. and hereby consent to and permit photographs of you and/or those of your minor children to be used by MTC for any purpose, including educational and advertisement purposes, and in any medium, including print and electronic. MTC may use such photographs with or without associating names thereto. The member further waives any claim for compensation of any kind for MTC’s use or publication of photographs of you and/or those of your minor children.

 

The member further acknowledges they have read these policies, and understand their terms and provisions.

COURT ACCESS

The Markham Tennis Club has installed combination locks on both the North and South enclosure gates to limit court access to club members. The South gate must be manually closed. Both North and South gate locks will have the same combination. Please note that the monitors will be pleased to verify your membership status and allow you entry to the courts. To help ensure that the code remains private, monitors WILL NOT provide anyone with the combination code. Your cooperation in keeping the code private is appreciated.

Group and Other Non-member Court Use Non-Member groups wishing to use the courts may be accommodated at the discretion of the club executive during low court demand times, typically early afternoon. These are normally expected to be local school groups with an adult supervisor. Charges for court use will be based on number of participants, typically $2 per person per hour. All requests should be directed to a member of the executive or the Club Pro, and must be agreed in advance of the requested date. A representative will be made available to open facilities and supervise the use.

 

Individual non-member players will be accommodated at the non-member fee rate during the allocated non-member times. At club discretion, non-members may be allowed at other than non-member times if courts are available.

MTC BY-LAWS
